RiverMuse to Chair Cloud Services Session at TM Forum Management World

While cloud services bring opportunities for telecom operators to garner new revenue streams, increased agility and better responsiveness to customer needs, they are fraught with complexity. Harnessing these opportunities, from deep within ever more complex, dynamic and elastic networks, presents a whole new set of IT management issues. The fact is that many of the legacy management tools are unable to keep pace with the transient nature of cloud based systems.

Con Blackett, who is the on the RiverMuse Advisory Board, is to Chair the “Operations & Standards for Cloud Services” session on May 20th between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM at TM Forum Management World 2010 being held from 18-20 May 2010, Acropolis Convention Center, Nice, France. The session will include multiple presentations with distinguished speakers from Telecom Italia, BT, EMC and Cordys will cover topics including:

•      Strategic management aspects of the move to a virtual infrastructure, including monitoring
•      Real cases of cloud innovation and business models that can drive higher ARPU
•      Better utilizing the network assets of operators

As the first customer to implement the industry standard, Micromuse Netcool in 1994 at BT, Con has watched the landscape change significantly ever since. With 25 years of worldwide industry acumen he is well qualified to comment on the new breed of infrastructure management.
