20 years ago, the team of serial inventor and entrepreneur Phil Tee, business whiz and agitator Mike Silvey, and software engineering guru, Predrag (Fred) Mutavzdic – recognized the need for disruptive innovation. In the face of overarching technology transformation to packet switched networks and the Internet, they literally invented the Event Management and Correlation industry as we know it today – founding Micromuse, and later Riversoft. In fact, their inventions are used to manage a majority of current public and private IT infrastructures around the world as part of IBM, HP and Cisco offerings.
Now this team has done it again at RiverMuse – building a new IT Event and Fault Management architecture for managing agile infrastructures.
With RiverMuse, they opted for a commercial open source approach, where the IT operations management community could benefit from innovations made by its practitioners and members. The full featured RiverMuse Core project is a result of that vision – the first open source solution combining a Manager of Managers (MoM) with powerful event correlation and analysis (ECA) capabilities built for today’s dynamic infrastructures.  RiverMuse Pro – the commercial version, provides additional functions and features aiming for even higher usability, scalability and automation. It includes out of the box integration with popular management systems, a robust desktop-based operations console, on demand discovery, a dynamic configuration engine and the ability to reuse and transport full configuration rules from event collection and processing to presentation.
Overall, the breakthrough architecture and innovation in the RiverMuse platform is ready to disrupt the IT Event and Fault management industry as we know it.
