RiverMuse Community

Welcome to a new landing page but the same great community.  So if you are already a frequent visitor or member of the RiverMuse Community you can use the navigation above to dive in, browse the forums, download our great software, and check out our in-depth documentation.

The RiverMuse Community was launched in July 2009 with a heartfelt invitation to all practitioners and those interested in managing infrastructure and services.   Everyone, whether user or developer is welcome to visit all parts of our Community site.  We encourage you to join up and participate  in a dialogue about your interests and help to influence the future of our chosen passion.  This is not just from a developer “code” point of view, the user base for Event Correlation & Analysis and for Network and Systems Management also needs a voice and we hope to engage with you all to allow us to build a strong community driven roadmap for future enhancements and usability.  It’s also the case (in this space) that an awful lot of the ”art” is in configuration and business logic – again driven by the knowledge of the community.

Our Community is hosted on a customised version of the extremely popular Atlassian Confluence.  It is a powerful wiki that helps us share pages, documents and rich content with visitors and members.  We also host our open source downloads and our forums here.

RiverMuse has committed itself to transparency and accessibility – our guiding principles are inspired by an open source community-driven roadmap, and this is reflected as follows:

• Everything has been released under  GPL3
• We have a published governance model (based on the eclipse foundation),
• Much of our thinking has been influenced by this excellent document – the role of participation architecture in growing sponsored open source communities.
• All of our compiled and source code is fully available, and contributions are welcome from all.
• We have a community board to ensure any disputes are resolved in an open and fair manner and we will co-opt independent members of the community to the board as we grow.
• The RiverMuse committer approval process is clearly stated and published as is our  contribution agreement.
