As we build out our community web presence ready for our upcoming launch I have been pulling together good reference sources and their URL’s.

I thought I would share a “top three” here and ask readers to respond with their own “top three”.    My first list is SNMP related:

1.  MibDepot – Comprehensive dictionary of MIBs (10k +) & search engine.
2.  SNMPTools – Reference and Software site for all things SNMP.
3.  SNMP V3 – Reference for SNMP V3

We have been having some fun writing our internal documentation and setting out our view of a two tier architecture around event and alert.  Before we publish our documentation Wiki we thought some of our readers might like to tell us what they see as the difference between an event and an alert?  If we like your answer more than ours, we may enshrine it in our wiki.    Comments please…..

RiverMuse’s European Business Development Director, Nigel Heaney is shortly off to Nepal with UNICEF to support their work in the region.

His Challenge will be to Trek for 6 days in Nepal, walking for 6-8 hours each day at altitudes up to 4,000 metres camping each night. Each participant in the Challenge has been asked to raise £3,150 to cover the costs and provide much needed funding for UNICEF.

You can support his efforts to raise much needed funding by signing on to his web page and making an online donation. You can be assured he’s in training to accomplish this trek and that all monies you donate will go direct to the UNICEF Children of Nepal Fund as he will be personally covering all the costs associated with his participation.
